This question reminds me of a tête-à-tête I had with my parents concerning my further education.
To be honest with you, I have been harbouring ambitions to work abroad/study abroad preferably in Australia or England ever since I graduated from the university. I thought about it long and hard but I wasn’t able to make up my mind single-handedly.
So one day, I sought the opinion of my parents about my intention to travel and work/study in another country and we had a serious chat about the pros and cons of the move. In the end, we all came to a unanimous decision that I travel overseas. This partly explains why I’m presently studying ielts as part of the visa requirement to travel to Australia.
I thought this conversation with my parents was quite interesting for a couple of reasons. Primarily, it demonstrates the strong bond among my family members. Over and above that, I was gratified with the unanimous decision because working/studying in another country would be more remunerative/conducive than working/studying in my home country.
This is all I have to say about a useful chat that I had with my parents.
What do men like to talk about? How about women?
Broadly speaking, men usually talk about politics, cars, their jobs and sometimes about their hobbies. It is generally believed that men are more outward-looking than women . As far as the female folk is concerned, well, I think they like to talk about everything and anything. For instance, women talk freely about their personal plans. They’re not afraid to discuss their fears, marital troubles or their dreams. I will also add that women are fond of gossiping. It’s not surprising to hear women talking about their husbands, boyfriends or about beauty products.
What is the difference between face-to-face communication and phone calls?
Well, when you speak on a phone you can say whatever you want but at the same time conceal your true feelings, whereas for face to face communication, you are at touching distance with each other and verbal exchange can be at its best as you can use facial expressions, body language and even eye contact which gives you a much clearer idea of what your partner feels about what you are saying. However, with phone calls you will require greater skills in listening and interpreting sounds as well as words.
