4.Describe an advice you received on your subjects or work.
You should say:
What it was
Who you received it from
What you did after receiving it
And how you felt about it.
Getting advice on important issues is something that we all have to do once in a while in our lives. So this question reminds me of the advice I got when I had to decide whether to go abroad for my studies or continue with my education in Korea.
To be honest with you, I have been harbouring ambitions to study in Australia ever since I graduated from the university. I thought about it long and hard but I wasn't able to make up my mind single-handedly. So one day, I sought the opinion of my parents about my intention to study overseas and we had serious chat about the pros and cons of the move. In the end, we all came to a unanimous decision that I travel abroad for my further studies.
After receiving this valuable piece of advice, I started studying English in order to improve my proficiency and also to pass the IELTS which is a visa requirement for my trip to Australia.
Well, I thought it was quite a brilliant idea to discuss the issue with my family members. This is because it demonstrates the strong bond among my family members. Over and above, I was gratified with the advice because studying in another country would be more challenging and exposure to the outside world. So, this is a useful piece of advice I got from my parents concerning my studies abroad.
